The acclaimed Whitworth Wind Symphony, under the direction of Richard Strauch, will perform David Maslanka’s epic work for wind symphony, “A Child’s Garden of Dreams.” The ensemble will also present Peter Van Zandt Lane’s Echo Chambers, a new work co-commissioned by the Whitworth Wind Symphony. In addition, the concert will feature music by Gustav Holst, Robert Thurston, and Thorsten Wollmann.
Over the past two decades, the Whitworth Wind Symphony has been recognized as one of the premier university wind bands in the Pacific Northwest, and was recently showcased by the College Band Directors National Association as one of the most outstanding small university ensembles in the United States.
