LIVE PERFORMANCES BY STUDENT BANDS at the YOUTH IN MUSIC STAGE I at MUSEUM OF ART:

12:15pm - 1:00pm PARADIGM SHIFT - a band that moves the needle! This new combo out of Cuesta College is delighting performers and opens our Youth in Music Stage at the SLO Museum of Art - bring friends and check them out.

1:15pm - 2:00pm SAMURAI FLAMENCO is another band recently formed out of Cuesta College.  Come find out why and bring some friends to see the future of jazz in SLO.

​2:15pm - 3:00pm - TRUCKS, TRUCKS, and MORE TRUCKS - this exciting combo is new to the SLO Jazz Festival. They'll be joining Charlie Shoemake for a special JAZZ CLINIC.

                     3:15pm - 4:15pm 
                     Charlie Shoemake - a special JAZZ CLINIC, demonstration and jazz instruction by Southern                          California's most esteemed jazz educator, former vibraphonist with George Shearing.

"Arguably the most successful teacher of jazz improvisation in Southern California history, Shoemake is also a highly charged mallet man capable of blistering solos off the metronome markings…" - Leonard Feather 

4:45PM - 5:30PM -  Summer Jazz Workshop Band - Did you know that Cuesta Jazz, Cuesta Community Programs and SLO Jazz Festival have been busy building a new education offering for students in the summer? We hosted this at Cuesta last year and are THRILLED to further showcase the development from these fine young musicians. COMBINED with High School All-Star Band - Featuring some of the finest jazz performers from High Schools throughout San Luis Obispo County, this band will pack a punch and leave you wanting more. We're thrilled to feature some of our finest up-and-coming talent from among our schools! Friends and family, come join the fun!
